The Taco Truck - Mobile Mexican Comes to Hoboken
On most nights, Pete and I will walk home together after work from the PATH to our apartments in Southwest Hoboken. On one chilly evening, we caught a glimpse of an orange truck driving towards the riverfront, with “Tacos Straight From the Truck” written in bright white lettering on the side. Sadly, it drove so fast that I wasn’t able a chance to catch the name. My...

A Halloween Birthday Dinner and Cake in East...
Belated, but not forgotten: everyone loves going out for their birthday dinner. My sister’s falls on Halloween, and one week later we were off in search of a meal fit for a king … or a small 11-year-old girl.
Her first choice, Chili’s, seemed packed with its usual Saturday night dinner crowd. I suggested Sandy’s Luncheonette, a local greasy spoon in the greater East...

Banh Mi So Hungry!
One thing about my dad, he’s a giver, even on his birthday. We assembled in his apartment, awaiting to depart for dinner, and he presents us with a bag of the best un-birthday gifts ever: foot-long sandwiches from Banh Mi Saigon Bakery. I haven’t had one of these in months, and hope to never make that mistake again!
Sitting on the border between Chinatown and the Lower East Side,...

Food 101: The Grandma Slice of Pizza Italia
I am unveiling for the first time, a real life, topical post of this blog: Food 101. This section is VITAL to my food exploration, as it’s my vessel to furthering greater culinary knowledge and expertise.
It also makes this blog look more than just a photo dump.
Today’s lunch came in the form of (arguably) everyone’s favorite food: pizza. Matt and I headed down to Stone...

7 Food Hacks to Stay Alert Without Caffeine →
Today I’m FIGHTING fatigue and droopy-eye syndrome really bad, even after my morning coffee. These tips look practical, easy, and sound healthy to follow. Though, I pretty much screwed the pooch by eating a big bacon, egg, and cheese sangwich from Champs (I bring these things on myself). I can still make up for it this afternoon by swapping vending machine snacks with some granola or...
